Gabriel Heinze´s representatives could take to the courts to force through the defender´s move from Manchester United to Liverpool, according to a report.

The Liverpool Echo claims the Argentina international´s legal team are bullish over their chances of forcing the transfer at a hearing if United remain steadfast in their refusal to let the player join their most bitter rivals.

In recent days it has emerged that the player has a letter signed by United chief executive David Gill claiming he would be free to leave if a £6million bid was received - a figure Rafael Benitez´s Reds are thought to have matched.
