Mido appears to be edging closer to leaving Tottenham after claiming a deal has been struck for a move to Birmingham.

The Egypt international found his opportunities limited last season after struggling for fitness and form, with the summer arrival of Darren Bent pushing him down to fifth in the pecking order of strikers at White Hart Lane.

"Both sides have agreed terms," Mido told "I will move on a one-year loan deal to Birmingham and, at the end they could buy my contract if the club survives in the Premier League. "Birmingham´s offer is the best I had received, especially that I chose to stay in England."
