Calderon: Wenger had Real talks

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has said the club held talks with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after parting company with Fabio Capello.

But although Wenger was one of a number of high-profile coaches sounded out by Real, Calderon insists Getafe coach Bernd Schuster is the "logical" choice to succeed Capello at the Bernabeu.

"Once we decided that Capello would not continue, [Madrid sporting director Predrag] Mijatovic underwent talks with Schuster, [Ronald] Koeman, [Michael] Laudrup and Wenger," Calderon told the club´s official website,
