Football News
Manchester United have welcomed UEFA´s decision to embrace new crowd control measures for major European matches.

United fans were involved in incidents in Lens and Rome last season where supporters found themselves the target of riot police, prompting European football´s governing body to agree to British government proposals to increase stewarding and limit the use of riot police.

Manchester United said in a statement: "The events of last season clearly demonstrated the need for crowd control standards to be set and met across Europe and this is welcome news."
