IFA close in on Sanchez successor

The Irish Football Association are believed to be ready to name Lawrie Sanchez´s successor as Northern Ireland manager.

The new boss could be unveiled as early as Friday following a meeting of the IFA´s executive board. It is understood the governing body have targeted someone with international experience following Sanchez´s departure to Fulham.

The new man will only be granted a short-term contract until the end of the Euro 2008 qualifiers in November.
