Manchester City´s Joey Barton has been arrested for his part in the training-ground altercation with team-mate Ousmane Dabo, according to reports.

Barton, 24, was suspended for the last two games of City´s season by former manager Stuart Pearce after a training ground bust-up with the Frenchman, which also resulted in an internal investigation.

Dabo was left needing hospital treatment and later spoke to police about the alleged assault and a police spokesman confirmed: "A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a Section 20 assault following an incident when a 30-year-old man was assaulted at Carrington."
