Derby manager Billy Davies has described claims that his side over-celebrated their Coca-Cola Championship play-off win at Southampton as "propaganda".

County go into Tuesday night´s second-leg clash with a 2-1 lead after Steve Howard´s double on the south coast wiped out Andrew Surman´s early effort. Davies enthusiastically punched the air and accepted the thunderous applause of the travelling Derby fans after the final whistle on Saturday, prompting claims his celebrations were over-enthusiastic and premature.

Davies said: "We have had to listen to this propaganda nonsense taking place at the moment about Derby County staff and players whooping too much and over-celebrating and it is very much far from the truth."
