Lionel Messi will premiere a new pair of special edition football boots to commemorate his record 4th Ballon d’Or win earlier this week.
The Barcelona forward beat off competition from Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta to become the first player to win the prestigious award four times.
Now using his new dedicated Twitter account @teammessi, Adidas have offered fans a sneak peak of the new Ballon d'Or adizero f50's, which feature three emblazoned orbs on his right boot, each containing the year of his three previous Ballon d’Or wins.
His right boot features a larger sun-like design to commemorate his win in Zurich on Monday. The Boots also features Messi’s ‘M’ logo.
While fans have been treated to sneak peek on the Argentinian’s official Twitter page – which is run for him by Adidas – they are yet to see the real deal after he failed to make it off the bench in Barcelona’s 5-0 Copa del Rey win over Cordoba last night.
In Messi’s absence David Villa took centre stage as he bagged a brace to help put Cordoba to the sword.
Alexis Sanchez scored twice while Thiago Alcantara also found the net to help Barca win the tie 7-0 on aggregate, setting up a quart-final showdown against Malaga in the process.
Messi should have the chance to show off his new footwear at the weekend, when they take on Malaga in La Liga on Sunday.
