David Silva is confident Manchester City can catch Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title. The defending champions trail United by seven points, but Silva believes his side can overturn the deficit before the end of the season. [Sky Sports]

Edinson Cavani has played down reports linking him with a move to Manchester City. The Uruguayan international has a contract with Napoli until 2017, and insisted he's happy at the Stadio San Paolo. []

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Loic Remy from Marseilles in a deal that could be worth up to £10m. The France international has also been linked with Newcastle and Queens Park Rangers. [The Independent]

John Terry has made his return in an under-21s match after two months out with a knee injury. The Chelsea captain has been out of action since November, but came through unscathed after playing 45 minutes against Fulham. [BBC]

David Villa scored two as Barcelona progressed to the last eight of the Copa Del Rey last night. The Catalans rested Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, but still beat second division Cordoba 5-0 at the Nou Camp.

Wayne Rooney could make his return from injury against Liverpool this weekend. The Manchester United striker has missed the Premier League leaders' last four matches, but Rooney has a chance of making the bench on Sunday after he returned to light training. [Daily Mirror]
