Liverpool are being forced to wait in their pursuit of England U21 winger Thomas Ince.

The highly-rated Blackpool star is wanted back at Anfield, after the Reds let the 20-year-old leave in the summer of 2011.

However, Tangerines chairman Kyle Oyston is refusing to answer calls from Brendan Rodgers, according to The Daily Mirror, in a ploy that helped the club keep Charlie Adam at Bloomfield Road back in January 20122.

The Daily Mail claims Liverpool are willing to pay £7million for the Npower Championship a star – a sizable loss on the compensation fee they received for the player 18 months ago.

Ince joined the Reds academy back in 2008, and graduated to the club’s first team two years later.

However, his only senior Liverpool appearance came in the League Cup, and after a brief spell on loan at Notts County, the winger was sold to Blackpool.

His stock has gradually risen with last season’s play-off final losers however, with international recognition coming in the shape of the Young Lions.

It’s form that’s impressed his former club, but Liverpool must now play the waiting game as Blackpool look to stall the Merseyside giant's transfer advances.
