The referee is usually a source of displeasure to players and fans alike during any football match, but Olympiakos changed that last night when using the official in the build-up to a goal.
Already leading 1-0 in the first leg of their Greek Cup last 16 clash against Kavala, midfielder Ljubomir Fejsa quickly reacted to a pass from the edge of the box that went through the legs of the man in the middle.
After taking a touch to control the ball, Fejsa was also able to take advantage of the accidental shield he was given by the official, and fire into the net with a fierce right-foot strike from outside the area.
Thanasis Papazoglou had given the hosts the advantage with a 60th minute header, although it doesn’t look like there were many fans present to enjoy the show.
