Neymar picked up from where he left off in 2012 with two goals in his first match of the new year for Santos.
The Brazil international calmly nutmegged his opponent as he stroked in his first for Santos twenty minutes in during their 3-1 victory over Sao Bernardo, before adding his second, and Santos’s third, from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
His first was vintage Neymar – he stood up the defender, a quick stepover, before slotting past the keeper in typically calm fashion. It remains to be seen whether the Santos star would enjoy the same kind of dominance in Europe, but clips such as this demonstrate just how outrageously talented he is - if that was ever in doubt.
And if you thought 2012 was a big year for the young Brazilian, expect 2013 to be even bigger – as Brazil build up to the 2014 World Cup, Neymar will be central to their plans at the dress rehearsal that is the Confederations Cup this summer.
