Team News

Arsenal will be without Mikel Arteta despite reports to the contrary, whilst midfielder Francis Coquelin is out after picking up a hamstring injury during the Chelsea match on the weekend. Arsene Wenger does get a boost with the return of Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from illness; Abou Diaby is a match time decision.

Sam Allardyce is without loanee Marouane Chamakh due to being ineligible to play against his parent club; defensive duo George McCartney and James Collins are unavailable due to knee and hamstring problems respectively. Otherwise, Allerdyce has a full squad to choose from.

Wenger looks for repeat performance

Arsene Wenger has watched his side gain one point in their last three fixtures, and is looking for the Gunners to reproduce their away performance against West Ham, tonight.

Speaking to the club website, he said: “It was one of our better performances.”

Goals from Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla gave the Gunners a win in East London. However, Wenger is not underestimating the Hammers and respects the danger they can cause.

“They [West Ham] are a team that is dangerous and can create danger. After they lost Andy Carroll [to injury], of course it was a bit damaging for them. That could be one of the explanations [why their form has dipped].”

With the return of Podolski and Oxlade-Chamberlain, 'winger' Walcott can move back to the middle, and really cause a depleted Hammers backline some problems. Arsenal should be too strong for the Hammers.

Match Prediction: Arsenal 2 - 1 West Ham
