Arsenal are being linked with a shock move for Hellas Verona winger Jorginho.

The Daily Express claims Arsene Wenger is looking to strike a few deals in the closing stages of the January transfer window, and that the young Brazilian has now caught the manager’s eye.

The 21-year-old has been earning rave reviews in Serie ‘B’, making 21 appearances for the club so far this season as the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi outfit push for promotion to the Italian top flight.

Lazio have also been linked with a move for the player, but the paper goes on to claim that Verona want £6million for Jorginho.

The former Sambonifacese starlet isn’t the only player to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, with West Ham central midfielder Mohamed Diame also on the Arsenal radar.

Wenger got a first hand look at the player last night when the Gunners thrashed the Hammers 5-1, although Diame was only used as a late substitute in the Premier League clash.

Whether the Arsenal boss has already seen enough to bring the player to the club is yet to be seen, but Wenger has just seven days to go about his business if he is looking to add to his squad this month.
