Moussa Sissoko has set his sights on helping Newcastle reach the pinnacle of English football after digging themselves out of a hole.

The France international became the latest United recruit when he completed his move from Toulouse and signed a six-and-a-half year contract at St James' Park. His initial mission, along with fellow new boys and compatriots Mathieu Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Yoan Gouffran and Massadio Haidara, will be to ease the Magpies out of Barclays Premier League trouble.

However, Sissoko had much loftier aims in mind when he put pen to paper. He said: "My personal objectives really are to finish off this season as best as we possibly can. I am going to give everything I can so Newcastle finish as high up the league as possible. For the future, I want Newcastle to be one of the very best teams in the Premier League."
