Chelsea defender Ashley Cole was criticising Blues strikers in their disappointing 2-2 draw at League One side Brentford in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.

Bees forward Clayton Donaldson was playing opposite Cole in the game and claimed he heard the England left-back mumbling criticisms of forwards and attacking midfielders.

Rio Ferdinand has criticised Brazil coach Luis Felipe Scolari for not picking his fellow Manchester United defender Rafael de Silva in the squad to play England next month.

Ferdinand claimed Rafael was the best right-back in the league and praised him for the vast improvement in his performances this season.

Arsene Wenger has dismissed reports England legend David Beckham could sign for Arsenal.

Beckham is currently training with the Gunners and when asked what he would be getting out of the arrangement, Wenger said: “Nothing. Only questions in press conferences.”

Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Mousa Dembele questioned his side’s motivation in the embarrassing FA Cup fourth round exit to Championship side Leeds United.

The Belgium international claimed treating every game like playing Manchester United is one of the hardest things in football.

Juventus have joined AC Milan in the race to sign Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli, with both clubs reportedly in talks with the Etihad Stadium club over a transfer.

Milan have long been linked with a move for the controversial forward but now face competition from the Serie A champions for a player that Citizens boss Roberto Mancini appears to have given up on.

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has claimed it was a brilliant decision by sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta to appoint Tito Vilanova as Pep Guardiola’s successor.

Rosell claimed Vilanova had exceptional talent as a manager and believes he understands everything the Catalan club is about – from ‘mes que un club’ to the importance of La Masia.
