Cristiano Ronaldo missed a sitter as Real Madrid and Barcelona drew 1-1 in 2013’s first El Clasico at Santiago Bernabeu.

Cesc Fabregas put the Catalan club ahead from a Lionel Messi assist in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg before defender Raphael Varane levelled inside the last ten minutes for los Blancos.

Both teams has chances to win the game and most memorable was one that fell to Cristiano Ronaldo just two yards out at the back post that he could only head wide.

It was a terrible miss from one of the world’s bets players but his blushes were saved by his teammate Varane.

It was a match full of incident; Xavi crashed a free-kick against the crossbar and had a shot cleared off the line in the first half, while Ronaldo forced a sharp save out of Pinto with his own free-kick.

It leaves the tie finely balanced going into the second leg at Camp Nou, though Barcelona will be slight favourites playing at home.

The game will be played on Tuesday February 26 to decide who will play in the final – the other semi-final first leg takes place on Thursday night between Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.
