Chelsea could reportedly beat the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United to the signature of Brazilian star Neymar, with the Santos forward's compatriots at Stamford Bridge persuading him to join the west London club.

Neymar is in London this week with Brazil as the five-time World Cup winners prepare to face England at Wembley in a friendly to celebrate 150 years of the Football Association and, according to the Daily Star, the 21-year-old could soon make the capital his home.

Chelsea are reported to have made repeated efforts to sign Neymar from Santos over the past few years, and the influence of agent Pini Zahavi could work in the favour of the Stamford Bridge club, with Neymar looking to move in 2014.

Also with a key role to play in a potential transfer to Chelsea could be Brazilian trio Oscar, David Luiz and Ramires, all of whom have settled well with the Blues, and all of whom are reportedly convincing Neymar to follow them to the club.

Reports in Spain, however, claim Neymar is expected to sign for Barcelona in the summer transfer window this year, with the youngster set to form a potentially devastating partnership with Lionel Messi.

According to Barcelona based newspaper Sport, Neymar will complete his transfer to the Camp Nou when the window opens, with representatives of the player and his current employers Santos reported to have confirmed a deal is in place.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have also frequently been linked with a swoop for Neymar of their own, and Sir Alex Ferguson was credited with a bid to bring the player to Old Trafford on transfer deadline day last year.
