Arsenal hand trial to 16-year-old Brazilian

Arsenal have reportedly handed a trial to promising Brazilian midfielder Indio. are running with quotes from the 16-year-old who currently plays for Vasco da Gama in Brazil.

It claims the Gunners have handed Indio the trial so that manager Arsene Wenger can decide if he wants to set up a move for when he turns 18.

Indio is hoping the week he spends at Arsenal leads to a transfer, as he is dreaming of a move to a big European club.

He also admitted currents Emirates Stadium star Theo Walcott is his favourite player.

"I like [Walcott] a lot. His style of play is very fast, which pleases me,” he quoted as saying to Globo Esporte.

"I'm anxious for this new stage in my life. I'll spend a week at Arsenal. It will be cool, I hope I enjoy it.

"Of course I have the dream of playing for a European club, but everything has its right time. It will be a good experience. I want to learn."

The trial for Indio comes at a time that a compatriot of his is in the process of making the opposite journey.

Left-back Andre Santos is reportedly set to join Gremio on a year-long loan with a six-month break agreement.

The former Fenerbache man has become a target of Gunners fans’ ire after a run of bad form and unconvincing displays.
