Southampton's Japanese striker Tadanari Lee has returned home, after signing for FC Tokyo on loan until the end of the season.
Lee, 27, rejoined his former club after finding first-team opportunities limited at St. Mary's, having suffered an injury in pre-season and then being kept out of Mauricio Pochettino's side by the in-form duo Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert.
The Japan international, who scored in Southampton's Capital One Cup win at Stevenage earlier this season, has returned to FC Tokyo subject to international clearance, linking up with the J-League 1 outfit ahead of the new season, which kicks off next month.
The Saints have confirmed that Lee is due to return to the south coast ahead of pre-season in the summer.
