Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Paul Scholes will be out for another two weeks with the knee injury that has disrupted his season.
The Manchester United veteran has not featured for the Premier League leaders since their 3-0 FA Cup fourth round win over Fulham in January, with the Red Devils medical team still trying to get to the bottom of the problem.
"This knee injury has just been bothering him a bit but we're trying another treatment on it over the weekend and probably another couple of weeks he'll be back," Ferguson confirmed.
Scholes missed United's crucial Champions League last-16 first leg clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday, not travelling with the first-team squad to the Spanish capital, instead staying behind at Carrington to work on his rehabilitation.
Scholes is also likely to miss upcoming Premier League games against Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City, in addition to sitting out this weekend's FA Cup fifth round tie with Reading - a game that Ferguson will make changes for after his side's midweek exertions in Europe.
"I will make some," the Manchester United boss added. "We want to get to the quarter-finals and we do expect to qualify."
