Gareth Bale's sensational run of goalscoring form for Tottenham has come as no surprise for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who knows the recent performances of his Wales teammate are no fluke.
The 23-year-old has 21 goals for club and country this season, and has been the only Spurs player to find the net in their past four games - three of which have been victories.
Bale's two conversions in the win over Lyon in the Europa League last week prompted a fresh wave of comparisons to Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, with the former crashing in a brace of free-kicks in the style of the former Manchester United player.
Reports continue emerge linking Bale with a summer transfer away from Spurs to Real Madrid, and Ramsey believes his friend would be thoroughly deserving of any potential future success.
Ramsey knows just how much hard work has gone into making Bale the player he is today, and says his progression is testament to his exertions on the training ground.
"As soon as they moved him up the pitch, he has been unplayable.
"Those free-kicks he produced against Lyon on Thursday – I’ve seen how he does it when we stay behind after training with Wales.
"He stays behind and practices them and it has paid off for him.
"Players here at Arsenal practice free-kicks after training and they can win you games, which Gareth proved in the week.
"Maybe it’ll happen for us as well. A few of us stay behind and work on things like that."
