Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has reiterated he will not be rejoining Barcelona in the summer, reports Sky Sports.

The Spanish stopper was the subject of intense media speculation in the January transfer window, with rumours that the 30-year-old will leave Merseyside at the end of the season.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is already believed to be looking for a replacement for long-term custodian, Reina, who arrived at Anfield from Villarreal way back in 2005.

And, the recent announcement that Victor Valdes will not be signing a new contract at Camp Nou, beyond his current deal that expires in 2014, prompted further whispers about Reina's future, with reports he's ready to return to Spain.

However, in an interview with Radio Marca, the Liverpool veteran confirmed that he plans to see out his own contract with the Premier League club, playing down rumours of a move back to his boyhood club, where he first started his career.

"Any talk of me joining Barca is just speculation. I've got a contract at Liverpool and I'm very happy here," Reina said.

"I am sure Victor Valdes will have his reasons for deciding to leave Barcelona. I respect him. He's my teammate and friend. He'll be leaving with his head held high, as he's given his all to Barcelona."
