This weekend’s Premier League action begins at Craven Cottage, with Fulham hosting Stoke City in a battle of two mid-table teams.

Neither side is threatening a European place, and both are well placed to avoid a battle against relegation.

Arsenal host Aston Villa in a game neither side can afford to lose, with the Gunners looking to bounce back from Champions League disappointment and the Villains in a fight for survival.

Basement boys QPR host league leaders Manchester United looking to cause an upset, and Harry Redknapp will be hoping his side rise to the challenge against the champions-elect at Loftus Road.

Reading host Wigan in another big clash at the bottom, whilst Sunderland travel to West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City host Everton in the other three o’clock kick-offs.

On Sunday, the Etihad Stadium hosts a huge match-up at the top end of the table, with Chelsea travelling to face Manchester City. Both teams need a win, and anything other than three points for the Citizens is likely to mean the end in the title race.

Newcastle United host Southampton at the same time, and both sides will hope to continue their recent charge away from the danger zone.

Both matches are followed by the League Cup final, with Swansea City hosting League Two Bradford City in a David v Goliath showdown at Wembley.
