Barcelona and Real Madrid go head-to-head in tonight's Copa del Rey semi-final second leg, with the two giants of Spanish football playing out a 1-1 draw in the first meeting at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Tonight's 'El Clasico' encounter at the Nou Camp will also provide another instalment in the great Lionel Messi-Cristiano Ronaldo battle, with world football's two best players set to continue their great rivalry.

Indeed, the duel between the Argentine playmaker and Portuguese winger is a perfect sub-plot for one of world football's great matches.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have always had great players on their books, and whilst plenty of pundits are happy to argue over who is the best individual, it's who has the best team that's interesting GiveMeFootball tonight.

So, we tried putting together a 'dream team' XI for each side, and unsurprisingly there is plenty of attacking talent on the pitch.

Barca's forward-thinking seven include Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff and Ronaldo (who could have played for either team), whilst Los Blancos have Zinedine Zidane, Alfredo Di Stefano and Raul in their attack as part of a more conventional 4-4-2 formation.

At the back, neither side is quite as good as going forward, although Carles Puyol is a playing-legend in Catalonia, and Fernando Hierro was one of the all-time greats for club-and-country in the 80s and 90s.

Check out the full XIs below, and let us know what players you think should have been included. And, while your at it, let us know who you think is the best - Messi or Ronaldo…

Barcelona dream team (3-4-3):

Andoni Zubizarreta; Carles Puyol, Miguel Angel Nadal, Ronald Koeman; John Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho; Romario, Ronaldo, Cesar Rodriguez Alvarez.

Real Madrid dream team (4-4-2):

Iker Casillas; Jose Santamaria, Jose Antonio Camacho, Fernando Hierro, Roberto Carlos; Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Alfredo Di Stefano, Francisco Gento; Raul, Ferenc Puskas.
