Javier Hernandez will not be leaving Manchester United this summer, according to his agent.

Eduardo Hernandez believes ‘Chicharito’ still has a future at Old Trafford, despite falling down the pecking order this season.

The Mexico international has not played as much as in recent seasons under Sir Alex Ferguson lately, though his agent feels he will rise to the competition for places.

Despite a lack of first team opportunities owing to the form of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck, Hernandez has scored 15 times this season already.

Reports emerged this season of possible interest from Real Madrid but Eduardo Hernandez insisted his client was prepared to fight for his place at Manchester United.

"Javier is thinking about his season in United. We are both not thinking about the market rumours," he is quoted as saying to ESPN Radio.

"It's true that in Manchester there is a lot of competition, but the boy has always played in a good way.

"For this reason I think that this isn't the right moment to leave."

Hernandez is expected to play in Manchester United’s next fixture, which is a Premier League clash with Norwich City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Ferguson will likely rest one or two key players as the second leg of United’s Champions League last 16 clash with Real Madrid is the following Tuesday.
