Liverpool target Antonio Cassano as Luis Suarez replacement

Liverpool will reportedly consider a move for Inter Milan striker Antonio Cassano if star man Luis Suarez leaves for Bayern Munich in the summer.

Premier League top scorer Suarez has been linked with a transfer away from Anfield and Brendan Rodgers will look to replace him with 30-year-old Cassano should the Uruguayan leave.

Metro have reported that sources in Italy revealed Liverpool were interested in former Roma and Real Madrid striker Cassano, who has eight goals in Serie A this season, but the Merseyside outfit will do everything they can to hold on to Suarez.

Cassano may now be out of favour at the San Siro, after an alleged fall out with Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni. Cassano was left out of the squad for Inter's 3-2 comeback win over Cagliari at the weekend.

Though, the Italian international could be included in the side that travels to White Hart Lane on Thursday for the Europa League tie between Inter and Tottenham.
