Xavi Hernandez has returned to first-team training after recovering from a thigh complaint, and should feature against AC Milan in the Champions League next week, according to Sky Sports.

The Spain midfielder picked up a thigh problem in the Copa del Rey defeat to Real Madrid last week, and he sat out Barcelona's La Liga defeat to the Madrid club on Saturday.

Reports had suggested Xavi could be set to miss the crucial second-leg Champions League tie at the Nou Camp, but the Spaniard has recovered quicker than first thought.

And Barcelona assistant manager Jordi Roura has revealed Barcelona will make a decision on Saturday regarding Xavi's availability for the La Liga match against Deportivo La Coruna this weekend.

He said: "He completed a full session with his teammates. We'll see tomorrow after training how he feels and whether we include him in the list.

"We will then see how things develop over the next few days to see whether he can play against Milan."

The Catalan club are 2-0 down from the first-leg, and face an uphill battle to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Without Xavi Barcelona struggled last weekend as they went down 2-1 to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, and the La Liga leaders will hope the Spaniard is passed fit in time for the crunch Nou Camp tie.
