Tottenham are in a strong position in the tie taking a 3-0 advantage to the San Siro after the clubs' first encounter at White Hart Lane last week, reports ESPN.

Despite seemingly having one foot in the quarter-finals of the competition as well as the pressure of a tightly packed Premier League, in which Spurs are battling for a Champions League spot, Villas-Boas says he will not rest a number of players in the second leg tonight.

When asked if he was considering fielding a weakened team he said: "No chance. There is no scoreline that could make us change six or seven players so we will play a strong team to make sure we go through in this competition.

"We take this game very seriously."

One change the Portuguese boss will be forced to make is the replacement of the in-form Welshman Gareth Bale who picked up his third yellow in the competition in the first leg ruling out of tonight's match.

The suspension denies Bale the opportunity to return to the stadium where he scored a sensational Champions League hat-trick in 2010.

But Villas-Boas believes Tottenham will be able to cope without the Welsh wizard as they have done so in the past.

"Gareth can make a difference in any game, we know. We will miss him but we won't want to prove anything without him because we believe a lot in ourselves and also we believe in Gareth.

"It's not a case of proving anything. We just want to do our job to get through."

The Tottenham boss believes should they knock Inter out, his squad will have the confidence to reach the final and the belief they deserve a place.
