As one of the linchpins of perhaps the wealthiest club on the planet, you would have thought Paris-Saint Germain Director of Football Leonardo would have other things on his mind as he reflected on his club’s Champions League upcoming tie against Barcelona after the draw in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday.

The Brazilian made an appearance on Italian television soon after the quarter-final draw, and was expected to wheel out the usual clichés that most involved in football tend to use.

Brilliantly, that wasn't quite the case. Instead Leonardo took the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend, Anna Billò, who was presenting Sky Italia's TV coverage of the draw.

When Billò asked her partner if he had any questions for the assembled panel of experts in the studio, the former AC Milan coach revealed he did have a question, but not one she was expecting.

"Anna, do you want to marry me?" he beamed as his would-be wife looked on, seemingly embarrassed.

"Do you want to marry me? You have to answer me now. I'm waiting for your answer. It's not that difficult," he pressed.

Sadly for all the romantics out there, the best she could muster was:  "OK … We'll see."

As if that wasn't enough, Billò's microphone was left on as the adverts started rolling afterwards, and she could be heard saying. "He's gone mad!" while fanning herself with a piece of paper.

Five years ago, then France manager Raymond Domenech tried a similar tactic but perhaps didn't quite time it as well to garner the support of a nation; his side had just been eliminated by Italy from Euro 2008.
