Edinson Cavani, who's been on Manchester City's radar, has been declared available for sale, however he will not be sold on the cheap.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis says Edinson Cavani will be allowed to leave Napoli this summer - but only if a club matches his £60 million buy-out clause.
It was previously thought that the Uruguayan international had a release fee much less than the figure quoted by the Naples club, but it now seems only an extraordinary bid will be enough to prize him away. De Laurentiis told reporters: "We included a very high buy-out clause in his contract because we want him to stay at Napoli."
He also said: "The clause exists, though, and if some nutter is willing to pay €70m [£60m] for him, which would mean a net fee of €63m [£53m] for Napoli, we are ready to listen to the offer. However, let it be clear that the final decision lies with Edinson.
"He knows that he's respected here and that the people love him. Not just for his goals, but also because he's a serious and polite person."
We all know that City has for long desired to avail the service of Cavani yet failed again and again, but now they have and actual chance to bring to to the Etihad Stadium.
Though the offer seems over-the-top, City have the powerful backing of Abu Dhabi based owner Shiek Monsour. It is up-to the Manchester City's manager Roberto Mancini to decide if the value £60m for Cavani is worth it.
It will be interesting to see if this transfer goes through and if City are willing to splash the cash to land Cavani.
