Manchester City star Yaya Toure could be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium if he doesn’t get a new contract by the weekend.

Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, told The Sun that his client was feeling undervalued by Citizens officials and would leave the club in May if he doesn’t get a new contract soon.

Seluk stressed Toure had no problem with Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and had not asked for a pay rise – the report claims the powerful midfielder is the club’s top earner on £220,000 a week.

He also says City officials had been dragging out talks over a new deal for half a year and Toure’s patience had run out.

“If he signs a contract in the next three or four days, OK. If not, we will not wait any longer and will start negotiations with different clubs,” said Seluk.

“Today is Tuesday, so it means by Saturday. We will say ‘Thank you. OK, Yaya will leave in May.’

“I do not feel he will stay at City. This is not about money. He wants to leave because of many reasons.

“He is one of the best players at Manchester City but does not feel the respect of the staff. Only Roberto Mancini respects Yaya.”

New Manchester City technical director Txiki Begiristain has already allowed the 29-year-old to leave instead of giving in to his demands once before.

Begiristain was the sporting director at Camp Nou when Toure left there for City.

“It’s all strange. It’s not normal to have negotiations for six months about a contract. They have been talking about small details all this time,” Seluk went on.

Toure’s wages mean that, were he to leave Manchester City, very few clubs would be able to afford him – PSG and Chelsea are two or wealthy Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
