Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has prioritised the summer signing of a new right-back, with Swansea star Angel Rangel and Sochaux defender Sebastien Corchia in the frame as the club looks to life after Bacary Sagna, according to

Sagna is yet to agree terms on a new Arsenal contract, and the report claims Wenger is set to dip into the market for a new right-back to challenge Carl Jenkinson at the end of the season.

French under-21 international Corchia is one of his transfer targets, while Swansea defender Angel Rangel is also being considered.

Rangel is thought to be seen as the less risky option, as he's already demonstrated his ability to flourish in the Premier League. And at 30-years-old he would be a like-for-like replacement for Sagna, and able to step straight into the first-team set-up.

But Corchia is a highly-rated young defender - he's still just 22-years-old - and has represented France at every youth level from under-17s upwards.

Sagna is reportedly ready to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer, with Paris St Germain the favourites to land him for a fee between £8m and £10m, according to the report.

The Frenchman's contract expires at the end of next season, and with Carl Jenkinson progressing well, the Gunners may be able to afford losing him.

Jenkinson has impressed in Sagna's absence recently, especially at Swansea and in the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich. Sagna has missed the last four matches with a knee injury, and the Gunners' reluctance to hand the France international a long-term contract is believed to be partly based on his poor injury record.

It's not expected that Arsenal would consider selling his deputy Jenkinson, but the report claims they are monitoring his progress closely with a view to possibly promoting him to first-choice next term.
