Every summer break their are plenty of transfers completed and plenty of new faces embracing the English Premier League. The summer of 2012 was no different.
With every club making at least two signings, there were plenty of new faces coming into the Premier League, but who has shined in their debut season?
Goalkeeper | Ben Foster
The English shot-stopper has had an incredible season with the Baggies after signing from Birmingham for an undisclosed fee. His form guided West Brom to the top half of the table, cementing their place in the Premier League for at least another year.
Right back | Cesar Azpilicueta
Signed from Marseille for around £7million, the right back struggled to settle into the team at first and never could cement his first-team place. However, after the Christmas break, Azpilicueta started to adapt to English football and his pace and ability to cross a ball has been impressive.
Centre back | Chico Flores
Despite being injured for the last few months, Chico has been a solid defender for Swansea and has looked comfortable even when being new to English football. He reads the game very well and rarely makes a mistake.
Centre back | Jan Vertonghen
The marquee defensive signing of the season and Tottenham got him for a bargain at £10 million from Ajax. He has been a revelation ever since. Vertonghen has been solid at the back, and also very dangerous on the ball charging forward. Very much like his Belgium teammate, Thomas Vermaelen.
Left back | Danny Rose
Signed for Sunderland on-loan and has been very impressive in a very standard Sunderland side. Quick and good going forward and defending makes in the left back for the summer signing XI.
Centre midfield | Mohamed Diame
Released by Wigan in the summer, Diame was left searching for a club and West Ham took a gamble on him and what a decision it has been. Diame is everything you want in your traditional centre-midfielder. He is a tall, strong, powerful holding man and has been a rock for the Hammers.
Centre midfield | Santi Cazorla
For just £16.5 million, this has to be one of the best signings of the summer. Adapted to the Premier League straight away and has been influential in the middle and on the wing for Arsenal. Scoring goals, getting assists and genuinely running the show with the help of Jack Wilshere.
Centre midfield | Eden Hazard
Despite not playing in his natural position, the Belgium slots into our three-man midfield after he dazzled in his debut season. The season has been enough to impress many fans and pundits and prove his hefty £32 million transfer fee was worth paying. Quick on his feet, powerful and full of tricks makes Hazard a perfect midfield man.
Right foward | Michu
I'm not sure how many times people will say it, but this man HAS to be signing of the season. At just £2 million from Vallecano the Spaniard has brought a bagful of goals. Tall and quick - making him a real handful for defenders, his goals have helped Swansea stay in the top half of the table and have also guided them to their first every trophy.
Centre forward | Robin Van Persie
Despite going on a nine-match goal drought, the Dutchman has continued his impressive scoring record from last year, but in different colours. After making the £24 million move from Arsenal to United, he has been the key to United's season. Plenty of goals and almost certainly a title winner.
Left forward | Christian Benteke
Despite being in a relegation battle with Aston Villa, the striker has impressed everyone in the footballing world with the majority of people thinking he will be at a top-four club come next season. The young forward is strong and quick and has a nack of finishing chances. A great signing for Villa and could be key to their survival.
