Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen admits he is unsure what the future holds after rumours of transfer interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, reports Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old Danish international is widely regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in the Eredivisie at the moment, and has been heavily linked with a move to England for a number of years.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is believed to be monitoring Eriksen's situation, as he considers a bid to lure him to White Hart Lane in the summer.

However, Tottenham are likely to face serious competition for the player's signature as Liverpool prepare a rival offer to tempt him to Merseyside.

Brendan Rodgers strengthened his Anfield squad with the addition of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho in January, and now reportedly wants to add the Ajax star to his ranks ahead of next season.

Eriksen concedes he doesn't know if he'll still be at the Amsterdam Arena when the summer transfer window closes, but anticipates that he will report back to his current employers for pre-season training.

"I don't know if I will be an Ajax player after the summer," the creative midfielder told Sporten. "I will probably start up training with Ajax, and then we will see what happens. I don't exclude anything.

"I haven't received a detailed offer of an extension yet, but my agent has had talks with the club regarding that matter."

A modest return of seven goals for Ajax this season provides evidence that Eriksen is still developing his game in Holland. But, both Tottenham and Liverpool have seen enough potential in his ability to take serious consideration to the prospect of signing him.
