Arsenal are planning to sign Chris Samba and Loic Remy in an £18million deal if Queens Park Rangers go down, according to the Daily Star.
With Samba on £100,000-a-week and Remy on £75,0000-a-week, their salaries will not be maintainable if QPR do end up getting relegated to the Championship.
Both players have been key in the Hoops recent resurgence and have hit the ground running since their arrivals in January from Anzhi Makhachkala and Marseille, respectively.
Arsene Wenger has kept tabs on them both and has never denied his interest in the pair. Samba was often linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium but Arsenal refused to pay the asking price his then club Blackburn Rovers wanted.
With the Gunners defensive frailties once again at the fore, the Congolese man mountain could be the ready-made Premier League star they need.
France International Remy, reportedly has a £6million release clause in his contract - less than half the price wanted when Arsenal inquired Nice about him in July 2010. At the time, Wenger thought the price was too high but now seems tempted to bring Remy to the club after he showed he can score goals in the Premier League.
