Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has urged his club to come through the mini-dip that has given Arsenal the chance to steal a march on fourth place in the Premier League.
Tottenham Hotspur were the in-form team of the Premier League before they travelled to Anfield on March 10 where they lost their 12 game unbeaten run to Liverpool in a 3-2 reverse.
They then went on to lose their mid-week Europa League game to Inter Milan and then suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham at White Hart Lane.
The international break seemed to come at just the right time as it looked like Tottenham were losing momentum in the push for fourth.
The consecutive Premier League defeats have left them a point behind Chelsea and only four above Arsenal, both with a game in hand.
Arsenal will now believe that they can overtake Tottenham just as they did last season, as Spurs have harder games in the run in.
Tottenham’s next four League games consist of trips to Swansea and Chelsea with Home games against Everton and Manchester City.
While Arsenal in their next four fixtures face Reading, Norwich and Everton at home with a trip to West Brom as well.
But Spurs captain Michael Dawson has come out with fighting talk saying that Tottenham have proved they have the ability to finish in the top four.
Speaking to the club’s official website Dawson said: “Everyone was disappointed with the result against Fulham but that’s behind us now and we have to push on again.
“We showed exactly what we’re capable of when we went on that unbeaten run (12 matches in the PL) and we’ve got to look to do something similar between now and the end of the season. We know it will be tough, but the determination is there.
“Swansea have impressed everyone again. They play good football and the Liberty is always a tough place to play, but we have to go there and bring back a positive result.”
