Arsenal forward Gervinho has backed Chelsea striker target Wilfried Bony to succeed at 'a great club' next season, reports Super Sport.

The 24-year-old Vitesse Arnhem star has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, following a series of scintillating performances in the Dutch Eredivisie this season.

Bony is currently top of the goalscoring charts with 27 goals in 28 league appearances in 2012/13, and is believed to be valued at around £12million.

The Ivory Coast international has been tipped to succeed Didier Drogba as his country's leading talisman in the future, and could even follow the Chelsea legend to Stamford Bridge, where he enjoyed eight great seasons in English football.

Gervinho has trodden a similar career path to Drogba, swapping Ligue 1 football in France with Lille for a move to Arsenal in 2011. And, despite taking some time to settle at the Emirates Stadium, he is now starting to show the sort of form that prompted Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to pay more than £10million for his signature.

Asked to assess the ability and potential of international team-mate, Bony, the Arsenal star put the Chelsea target up there with the best strikers in Europe at the moment.

"Wilfried is hot at the moment," Gervinho told Super Sport. "He is confident both at club and national team.

"He has shown his talent and he is consistent. I can say he is currently one of the best centre forwards in Europe.

"I can see why he's pulling interest from a number of top sides in Europe. Wilfried knows how to hit goals and he nets them even with the smallest chances, and I wish he lands a deal with a great club in the summer."
