Real Madrid are in complete control going into their second leg in Istanbul. Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain gave Los Blancos a commanding 3-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Galatasaray have been the fairy tale story in this season's Champions League, but it seems even the superstar signings of Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder will not be enough to see the Turkish giants progress to the last four.
Fatih Terim's side have had an impressive campaign in Europe's most prestigious club competition. Their progress to the last eight is an achievement in itself and if they are to cause a major upset in the second leg they will need everything to go their way.
They were simply outplayed and outclassed in the first leg by Madrid's quality and therefore they will have to rely on Jose Mourinho resting a few stars to perhaps find an inroad back into the tie.
Players such as Drogba, Sneijder, Burak Yilmaz and Selcuk Inan are capable of opening up Madrid but they will need a clear game plan from the outset. In their first leg players were not on the same wavelength as each other.
Everyone else on the team did not display the sense of urgency shown by Didier Drogba. Galatasaray will have to throw the kitchen sink at Real Madrid if they want to give them a scare.
The Spanish champions will be very pleased with their performance in the first leg. It was professional, clinical and full of quality. Progression seems like a formality but anything is still possible such is the nature of football.
Madrid will be determined to kill off the contest early by getting a goal as soon as possible. If Galatasaray get a goal early then the nerves could start filtering in. An early goal would silence the Galatasaray fans and calm any nerves the players may have.
Predicted score: Galatasaray 1- 2 Real Madrid
