Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers disappointed by disallowed goal

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admits he was left feeling hard done by as his side was held to a 0-0 draw against West Ham at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds looked to continue their good form against the Hammers, having won four of their previous five league games but could only manage a draw despite dominating the game once again.

And after striker Daniel Sturridge had a goal disallowed for offside when it seemed he might have actually been onside, it left Rodgers feeling very frustrated.

According to talkSPORT he said: "We were outstanding in terms of our game and very frustrated we didn't get the three points.

"We kept pushing from the first minute but West Ham defended very well. In that situation, you have either got to score early or you need that wee bit of luck.

"Unfortunately when we did score it was deemed offside but when you see it again Sturridge was clearly onside."

This performance like many others this season was typical of Liverpool as they controlled the game but lacked the cutting edge to kill off their opposition.

The result now leaves Liverpool in seventh position in the table with qualification for the Champions League looking pretty much impossible. As well as this it looks as though they will struggle to earn a place in the Europa League as they trail fifth place Arsenal by seven points, with the Gunners having a game in hand.
