Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Aurelien Chedjou is set to turn down the chance of a Premier League move and sign for Valencia, according to talkSPORT.

The Cameroon international has been scouted by Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as Newcastle, but he's inching closer to sealing a summer move to La Liga.

Reports in France claim Chedjou favours a move to Spain, with Valencia hoping to finalise a deal with Lille in the next few weeks.

The Lille star has emerged as one of Ligue 1's best defenders this season, and earlier this term he intimated his desire to move on at the end of the season.

Arsenal and Liverpool were among the favourites but now look set to miss out. But a move to Valencia could work out for the Gunners in the long-term.

If Chedjou completes his moves to Valencia this summer, that would fuel rumours of a move away from the Mestalla for current Valencia centre-back Adil Rami. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the past, and he could become available if the Spanish club sign Chedjou.

But the report claims it's unclear whether Valencia plan to partner Rami with Chedjou or whether the Frenchman will be expendable at the end of the season.
