Rafael Benitez has confirmed Gary Cahill underwent knee surgery recently, but thinks he'll make a full recovery in the coming weeks. The 27-year-old defender picked up the injury against West Ham last month, and faces two weeks on the sidelines.

Glenn Hoddle has told Gareth Bale to stay at Tottenham and help make the club title contenders. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have all been linked with a move for the Spurs winger, but Hoddle thinks he's better off at White Hart Lane.

Danny Welbeck is pleased with the progress he's made this season, but admits he needs to find a way to score more goals. The United forward has been a regular starter in the big matches and pinpointed the Champions League trip to the Bernabeu as his personal highlight so far.
