Jose Mourinho will attempt to bring Sami Khedira to Chelsea if he returns as manager, according to reports.

German newspaper Bild claims that ‘the Special One’ will ask Blues owner Roman Abramovich to spend big on the 26-year-old former Stuttgart star, who moved to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2010.

Khedira has featured regularly for Los Blancos during his time in the Spanish capital, and has been particularly influential this season as Real Madrid look to claim European honours in the Champions League.

It was Mourinho who brought the player to Madrid, and now speculation claims it his he who will try to take him away from the club too – if he replaces Rafa Benitez as Chelsea manager at the end of the season.

Mourinho has hinted that he will return to one of his old clubs in the summer, according to The Daily Express, whilst chairman Bruce Buck has also suggested that the former Porto chief is in contention to take over the Stamford Bridge hot-seat once again.

And, The Daily Star went a step further yesterday, claiming that the 50-year-old had verbally agreed to become Chelsea boss once again and that he wanted to bring Hulk to west London.

Khedira could follow the Brazilian to the Blues if the reports are true, but there are still many hurdles left to get over ahead of some summer business.
