Wayne Rooney has been awarded the Manchester United Goal of the Month award for March.
The Old Trafford favourite’s strike to round off an impressive 4-0 victory over Norwich City in the Premier League on March 2.
Shinji Kagawa’s first hat-trick in a Manchester United shirt had sealed the three points for his side, but Rooney was on hand in the last minute to put some extra gloss on the scoreline and send the fans away with something special.
Danny Welbeck passed inside from the left touchline for Rooney to take a touch, feign a shot to slip past Bradley Johnson and curl a delicious shot into the top corner.
It was a fantastic strike from the England striker and won 39 per cent of the vote on the official Manchester United website.
It was a winning margin of 12 per cent over Javier Hernandez’s header against Chelsea in the 2-2 FA Cup quarter-final draw at Old Trafford in second place.
It was Rooney’s 11th goal of the season and probably the best of his efforts this term.
