Manchester United's odds of signing Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao have been slashed after a flurry of reports linking the Premier League leaders with a move for the Colombian frontman, according to Sky Sports.

The Atletico Madrid forward has been linked with a summer move away from the Vicente Calderon, with Chelsea and Real Madrid also thought to be interested.

At one stage United were 11/1 outsiders to land the Colombian this summer, but they've now been cut to 5/2 favourites by Sky Bet.

The report claims the move is a reaction to the speculation linking the 27-year-old with an Old Trafford switch.

Spanish newspaper Marca claimed earlier this week that United were in advanced negotiations with Atletico over a deal for the forward, while another report suggested Sir Alex Ferguson may be willing to include Javier Hernandez as part of the deal to sweeten the package for the La Liga club.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone also revealed he expects interest in his star striker when asked by reporters earlier this week.

Chelsea and Real Madrid, two of the favourites to sign Falcao in January, have now moved out to 5/1, and are joint second favourites behind Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, as he looks set to bring in another forward for the start of next season.
