Real Madrid defender Serigo Ramos has been linked with a move away from the club with both Chelsea and Barcelona rumoured to be interested as reported in the Daily Express.
With Jose Mourinho being linked with a sensational return to Stamford Bridge, the manager is reportedly keen to bring the 27-year-old with him to west London.
Mourinho has a history of bringing players from his former club to a new club. When he joined Chelsea he did not hesitate to bring in both Paulo Ferreira and Ricardo Carvalho from Porto.
There are already rumours he would make an offer for German and Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira to make him one of his first signings if he returned to Chelsea.
But Chelsea won’t be the only ones vying for his signature with Barcelona seeing the experienced player as the ideal replacement for the ageing Calres Puyol.
Both Ramos and Barcelona forward David Villa, who was linked to a host of Premier League clubs, are believed to be in the process of learning the English language as they prepare for a move to the Premier League.
Real Madrid will be unlikely to be willing to let Ramos leave, however. The Spanish international has become a mainstay for both club and country and recently became the youngest European player to reach 100 international caps.
Ramos signed for Real Madrid from Sevilla in 2005 for €27 million and has made over 250 appearances for Los Blancos.
