Manchester City playmaker Samir Nasri is pleased he is finally delivering the kind of performances that saw him earn a move to the Premier League champions.

Nasri's goal against Chelsea was the first time he had netted since City's Champions League defeat against Ajax back in October.

The former Arsenal midfielder believes he would have replicated the form he showed in his last season at the Emirates Stadium had he not been blighted by niggling injuries, but is confident he can now move on to the next level.

Nasri, who was speaking to City TV after their semi-final triumph, said: "I wish I was like this since the start of the season but I had a couple of injuries which stopped me.

"Now I am playing really well, really great. I am full of confidence."

The Frenchman has called on his teammates to fight until the end of the season to retain their Premier League title, despite languishing 15 points behind local rivals Manchester United.

"I try to do my best for the team and we are going to fight until the end for the league and we want to win the FA Cup. It is the right moment," concluded Nasri.

Roberto Mancini's side face Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night, before matches against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United. They then meet the Latics again, but this time in an FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, 11th May.
