Arsenal are being linked with a move for Barcelona starlet Julio Pleguezuelo Selva.

The Daily Mirror reported on Sunday that Gunners chief Arsene Wenger in keen to bring the 16-year-old to the Emirates Stadium in a deal similar to the one which saw Cesc Fabregas move to Highbury a decade ago.

Pleguezuelo is a versatile defender who can play at both centre back and right back, and has represented Spain at youth international level.

Barca are confident they have a deal in place that ties the teenager down to the Nou Camp, but the report claims Arsenal hope to get the player for a minimal fee, with another potential transfer battle between the two clubs set to take place.

And, reports in Spain claim Arsenal are also in contention to bring Josimar to the Premier League from Catalonia.

The 16-year-old Ecuadorian forward is one of the brightest stars at La Masia, and a move to England would be a major blow for the La Liga leaders.
