Manchester United could be ready to line up a swap deal for Porto star James Rodriguez – labelled the ‘new Cristiano Ronaldo’.

According to The Sun, the Portuguese club are trying to fund a move for the Brazilian they sold to the Old Trafford outfit in 2007.

It suggests one way this could come about would be to include Anderson in a deal to take James Rodriguez to Manchester United.

Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been credited with an interest in the Colombian winger who has been compared to former Old Trafford star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Anderson has never really cemented a place in the line-up since he completed his £18million switch, with injury and form combining to have him labelled a flop by many.

The 25-year-old showed a brief resurgence in form last season but injury caused him to miss out again and he has since been unable to force his way back into Ferguson’s plans.

Now he is reportedly ready to listen to offers for Anderson and has an eye on Rodriguez.

The 21-year-old will reportedly cost Manchester United in the region of £36million if they want to prise him away from Porto.
