It's been a largely disappointing season for Manchester City, whose Premier League and Champions League campaigns didn’t pan out as expected.
The club has almost assured second place in the league and will be playing in the Champions League again next season.
Here is a look at some of the players they should look to offload in order to bring in new recruits.
The Ivorian has not been first choice for the club and has been used sparingly during the past two campaigns. The club should look to get rid of the centre-back and bring back a younger defender as a squad player who will serve the club for years to come.
This one might seem controversial for the fans as the Argentina striker is a firm fan favourite. His tireless running, commitment and quality makes him a valuable member of the squad; however, the player is often marred by controversy and has often said that he wants to return back to South America. The club should get rid of the player so that they can focus on the next campaign without any distractions.
The Serbia international gives the club flexibility as he can play in a number of different positions on the left side. The player, however, is hugely inconsistent and for a squad player his wages are outrageous. The club should look to offload him this summer.
The Maicon experiment has failed to provide the club with the spark that they were looking for, with the defender failing to make any sort of impact after his transfer from Inter Milan. The club should get rid of the full-back and bring in a better replacement this summer.
Other potential departures
Other players that Manchester City should be looking to offload are Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz and Gareth Barry.
Who do you think should Manchester City let go this season?
